Farm to Table Harvest Dinner

Annual "Harvest" Wine Dinner, September 19th!

Each of the past several years, right at harvest time, Wine World has teamed up with several area farmers and ranchers to celebrate the goodness of locally produced foods in a "Farm to Table" themed wine dinner.

This year's event is planned for Friday evening, September 19th, and we will once again be working with our friends at the Vandiver Inn.

This is one of the very few venues we have found that offers us the creative freedom to present the dinners according to what we want, rather than what the chef knows how to cook. That's the difference Chef Susan Muldoon brings to these events, and it's her abilities that keep us coming back!

This year, Chef Susan will present her unique versions of Thai crab, crispy duck spring roll, tobacco leaf wrapped striped bass, herbed lamb chops, farm fresh produce, locally made cheeses, and more! And all of this bounty is from local producers!

The menu was carefully crafted to showcase the magnificent Willamette Valley wines of Trisaetum which will be presented by Mr. Scott Nagel who will be joining us from the winery!

This promises to be one of the more memorable dinner events we have ever had, and we would urge you to reserve your seats quickly. At just $69 per person (all inclusive - even tax and tip!) these tickets won't last long. And yes, this will be a ticketed event!

Contact the Vandiver Inn B&B at 1-800-245-1655 to reserve your tickets, and we will be delighted to see you there.

Eat Your Veggies!

Flying Plow Farm

Farm Stand Wednesdays, 5-7 PM

Remember that every Wednesday from 5-7 PM, the good folks from the Flying Plow Farm now set up their stand in our parking lot. Elizabeth invited them to do this so that everyone can have access to their farm fresh produce and other items - CSA member or not!

Tom and Sarah were only too happy to honor this request, since they already visit us to drop off the current week's portion of the garden goodies for their CSA members on Wednesdays anyway.

In addition to their (almost) organically grown veggies, they will also bring some of their farm fresh chicken, and just laid eggs.

Visit their web site and place an order, just in case they sell out before you get there. Anything that's been ordered in advance is held aside for you.

Also, let me clarify the "organic" part. They're not yet certified organic... that takes 3 years in MD, and they've only been on their new farm for two, but they are well on their way; it's the only way they farm!

Take advantage of this rare opportunity to experience food fresh from the farm, and tastier than anything you'll find in the grocery store!

Those little extras you don't find just anywhere

  • Wine Dinners
    • What better way to learn about great wine than to attend a dinner where the menu is created to highlight the wine! Wine World has hosted several wine dinners at some of the fine local restaurants and the Baltimore area. We intend to continue that tradition!
  • Expert Speakers
    • Typically during our wine tastings, we will have a speaker on hand who can intelligently discuss the products, geared toward making it an informative as well as tasty experience.
  • Special Guests
    • We have also hosted wine makers from as nearby as the Fiore Winery right here in Harford County, and as far away as Beccaris Winery in the Piedmont region of Italy. Who better to tell you what goes into the making of their wine!
  • Special Events
    • Don’t be surprised if you walk into Wine World and see a brass band, or a string quartet, or tasty treats. We seem to celebrate more often than most.  We held 3 separate Customer Appreciation events in our first year. They were so much fun, we plan to do more!

Wine World, where we genuinely like our customers!
Isn’t it time you discovered the Wine World difference?
