Supporting Local Agriculture!

   Flying Plow Farm

Enjoy Fresh, Healthy Produce!

Wine World is proud to announce our association with the Flying Plow Farm CSA!

What is a CSA you ask?  Community Supported Agriculture is designed to provide a close connection between a local farm and a community of members. The farmers feed the members by providing a weekly share of produce, and the members financially support the farm and become an integral part of small scale, local agriculture.

It's the best of both worlds!

  • You get fresh, in-season local produce grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers - the way you would do it in your own garden if you only had the time, space and resources.
  •
  • Our friends Tom and Sarah of the Flying Plow receive the financial support they need to keep their farm viable and vibrant, allowing them to continue supplying our community with high quality vegetables year after year!

  • And everyone gets to take an active role in preserving farmland and supporting local, family farmers.

It also makes it easier for the farmers to plan each year's crops because they know what and how much of each crop their customers want.

Elizabeth, who by all accounts is a world class foodie, first met Sarah and Tom at the Bel Air Farmer's Market, and later visited their farm near Fallston for fresh eggs, chickens, beef, pork and other goodies.

They became involved in our annual "Local Harvest" wine dinners, where all of the meat, vegetables and wines are supplied by local producers.

In the time since that first meeting, Flying Plow's reputation has grown to the point where they had to expand their farm, so they purchased land in Cecil County near Rising Sun where they continue to supply farm fresh food to an ever increasing fan base.

Since they are now so far away, it only made sense to establish local pick-up sites where the CSA members can claim their weekly bounty, and Elizabeth was only too happy to help!

Wine World is now an official host site, with deliveries set for every Wednesday from 5-7 PM beginning in the May 21-28 timeframe, depending on when this infernal winter ever ends and lets the veggies grow!

If you are already a member of the Flying Plow CSA, let Tom and Sarah know that your preferred pick-up point is Wine World so they can have your produce delivered here.

And if you are not yet a member, but this sounds like something you'd like to become a part of, simply click this link to get signed up:  Join the Flying Plow CSA

Space for new members is limited, so don't delay!

All natural, sustainable agriculture at its finest... healthy soil growing healthy plants, and healthy plants growing healthy people. That's what it's all about!

Those little extras you don't find just anywhere

  • Wine Dinners
    • What better way to learn about great wine than to attend a dinner where the menu is created to highlight the wine! Wine World has hosted several wine dinners at some of the fine local restaurants and the Baltimore area. We intend to continue that tradition!
  • Expert Speakers
    • Typically during our wine tastings, we will have a speaker on hand who can intelligently discuss the products, geared toward making it an informative as well as tasty experience.
  • Special Guests
    • We have also hosted wine makers from as nearby as the Fiore Winery right here in Harford County, and as far away as Beccaris Winery in the Piedmont region of Italy. Who better to tell you what goes into the making of their wine!
  • Special Events
    • Don’t be surprised if you walk into Wine World and see a brass band, or a string quartet, or tasty treats. We seem to celebrate more often than most.  We held 3 separate Customer Appreciation events in our first year. They were so much fun, we plan to do more!

Wine World, where we genuinely like our customers!
Isn’t it time you discovered the Wine World difference?
